As Covid-19 continues in our community, we would like to share with you the steps that we are taking to keep our patients and employees safe. We will be following guidelines set by the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control. We will continue to monitor the information as it is released.

We are cleaning and disinfecting common areas and “high touch” surfaces several times a day. The adjusting tables, roller tables and therapy benches are cleaned with a disinfectant after each patient. We have hand sanitizer and gloves available for use throughout the office. Dr. McDonald will always wear a mask and gloves if necessary. Plexiglass shields have been installed at the front desk. We are scheduling appointment times to allow us to adequately clean rooms between patients. This scheduling policy will also help to limit the number of people in the office at one time, minimizing everyone’s community exposure. Please understand this will not allow us as much flexibility in our scheduling times, but we will still do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.

We will be screening patients for symptoms of respiratory illness. When you call to make an appointment, we will ask if you are experiencing any symptoms. If you are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 or you feel that you are part of a high-risk group, per the CDC and IDPH recommendations, we do ask that you stay home. We are sure you understand that this is not only for your protection but also for the protection of all our patients and the safety of our staff and community.

Hopefully this will not last long. Our hearts and prayers go out to all, especially those whose families and livelihood will be negatively impacted by this. Every one of us is being affected by this pandemic, but we need to do what is necessary for the greater-good.
